So let me just start off by asking who doesn’t love Disney?!! We certainly love it! And, since we have been quiet often, I have made a list of answers to Disney World questions based on our personal adventures.
It is just one those places that make you feel good about life. So, here are some things we have learned over the years of visiting Disney World based on our experiences and preferences as a family of four in regards to frequently asked questions.
Question: Is it worth it to book a room on the Disney property as opposed to booking a hotel outside the Disney property?
We have done both and I much prefer to stay completely on the Disney property. This gives you the advantage of various wonderful perks that are not available to off site folks.
On site guests receive extra Disney park hours, all your shopping will be sent to your room (this is nice – no carrying bags around), laundry and kitchen access, dining perks, free transportation, great pools…there’s a lot to be said for staying inside the Disney bubble.
Plus, Disney will do fun cute things for you and your kids while your out. One that we got a kick out of was to come back from a day at the parks to find all our purchased stuffed animals sitting in chairs at the dining room table or lying around sunbathing on the deck with sunglasses and water.
One of the perks we appreciate is that we typically close the parks with the firework shows and, after a long day of Disney fun, we are beat at this point. Being in close proximity to your bed for collapsing purposes is truly a great advantage.
Question: Should We Do A Meal Plan?
Here is a popular answer to a Disney World question. We have found this to be a glorious perk. We just recently began using the meal plan and have been kicking ourselves for not using it in the past. You will download the My Disney Experience Mobile App which will allow you to chose and reserve restaurants and keep track of your plan.
Question: Should We Use Disney’s Bus Transportation?
We do not like this one. We have used the bus system that is available to those staying in an on-site resort and we have found this to be a tedious and unworthy deal. The waits at the bus stops can be long, the stops to other resorts endless and the drive lines to the front gates nail biting.
We drive it. We go straight to the parking lots where a fun carriage driver picks you up almost immediately and then alas, you arrive at the front gate.

Waterway transportation aboard the park boats and ferries as well as the super sleek monorail are definitely beneficial. We find these very fun and entertaining as well.

Question: Should you get Park Hoppers?
There is so much to do, see, ride and eat at every park that really, park hopping is not a necessary goal. We stay all day at one park at a time and enjoy all it has to offer from start to finish as opposed to spending that time in transit to another park.
This is just our preference but also, park hoppers are more expensive.
Question: Should I spend the money on Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party?
Go ahead and start putting money in the piggy bank because yes, it was AWESOME. It is worth the money just to see the Headless Horseman ride down the main streets on a gorgeous black horse. (Looks so real)
Everyone at Disney is a kid so everyone gets to trick-or-treat. And the candy that is handed out is mostly yummy chocolate. The Halloween parade that follows the headless horseman’s run is a must to see.
Question: Best Time To Go To Disney World:
We have been to Disney World at all different times of the year and, although Disney is their typical fabulous selves year round, there are times we like to go better then others.

Spring and summer at Disney are HOT. At this time of the year, you are dealing with longer lines and HOT. Prices are going to be higher, availability to attractions and events limited and it’s HOT. All I can advise for anyone going spring and summer are waterparks, because, did I mention, it is HOT!
Best time to go – fall and winter. Our favorite time has to be fall. The prices are less this time of year, kids are back in school so not as crowded and the air temps are much more forgiving and the waterparks and pools are still doable.

Question: Favorite Disney World Restaurant?
Hard one. I do go for the food because Disney World must ask all the brilliant chefs from around the globe to work for them which makes this question a truly difficult one to answer.
I love them all however, if I had only a short time to visit and one restaurant to pick, I would chose the Disney Springs T-Rex Café.
The Disney Springs T REX CAFE is fairly new and let me say what an AWESOME place this is. Check out pics and be sure to go. The food is typical Disney magic but the atmosphere and sights are what makes this restaurant a super treat for everyone in your group.
And, as with anything super awesome, T Rex Cafe is super busy. Advanced reservations are definitely what you want to do. For reservations, you can call or you can book online. Just click the link above to their website.
